Coco Chips: Raw Material Preparation
- Collect matured fresh organic green or brown colour husks from registered suppliers. (if the husk is totally dark brown or very old, reject the husk)
- Suppliers have been registered based on the selection criteria.
- Weight the total husk load and deliver to raw material preparation location.
- Count the no of husk in the lorry or check and weight 25 x 5
- number of husk samples from the lorry and calculate the average weight of a husk.
- Calculate the no of husks in the lorry with dividing total load net weight by average weight of a husk.
- Return the un-matured, dark brown, insect attacked, decomposed or very old coconut husks.
- Unload the selected husks to the soaking area and spray with fresh water for 2-3 hours to ease the cutting process.
- Clean the husks before supplying to cutting process and feed into the chip cutting machine.
- Collect the output of coco chips.
- Transport coco chips to the washing tanks.
- Put the Coco chips into net bags and dip in the washing tanks with water.
- Allow for 24 hours to washing out iron concentration.
- Remove the water and allow drain out dissolves.
- Repeat the washing process for 2 more times keeping 12 hours and 8 hours.
- Remove the water and allow drain out dissolves.
- Check the EC content with customer requirement.
- If not acceptable EC level, re-wash the material again.
- If comply with acceptable level, Sola dry and send to the siever.
- Sieve mesh size will be decided based on production requirement and categorize with particle size as 7 mm chips, 10 mm chips, SS and SSS and put into bags and store in warehouse separately.
